This year CLC WA’s Ignatian Spring retreat had the theme of “The call to Holiness in Today’s World”. (Based on Pope Francis’ Exhortation “Gaudete et Exultate”.)
Some of the themes that were explored included:
· The Way to Your Door -exploring the diverse ways that call me to pay attention.
· God is in the Ordinary-it is in the ordinary events and challenges of our lives that we find our way to growth.
· Living the beatitudes.
· The challenge of living joyful community.
· The practice of discernment.
Led by a team of Br Terry Casey, Ms Helen Vester and Mr Kevin Wringe, the participants experienced a rich variety of reflections and activities which led them to become more clear sighted about their own faith journey. Sharing in small groups, periods of silence and early morning prayer on the beach invited us into a deeply reflective space grounded in the reality of our everyday lives.
With great creativity and finely-honed presentation skills, Terry, Helen and Kevin led us on a journey of discovery and deep joy for which we were profoundly grateful.
The context of the retreat was the beautiful grounds and hospitality of the St John of God Retreat Centre in Shoalwater, WA.
